In this concert, Tang Juechen, a youth pianist and representative of China Magic Finger Pianist, was invited as a guest pianist. He collaborated with the China Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the “World’s Top 10 Most Influential Orchestras,” and Xia Xiaotang, the Deputy Director and Principal Conductor of the China Philharmonic Orchestra, to perform the piano concerto “Sailing.”

Originally a symphonic choral work commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, “Sailing” was adapted into a piano concerto to enhance its expression as a universal musical language. The composition is majestic and inspiring. Tang Juechen delivered an outstanding performance with his exquisite skills and rich stage experience, working seamlessly with the orchestra to complete the performance flawlessly.

Over this journey, the orchestra has achieved its goal of becoming “First-class in China, Leading in Asia, and World-renowned,” achieving historic breakthroughs.

In the spring of 2009, the British magazine Gramophone named the China Philharmonic Orchestra among the “World’s Top 10 Most Influential Orchestras.” Over the past 24 years, the orchestra has performed over a thousand concert programs and more than 6,000 works, collaborating with over a thousand domestic and international artists. Established on May 25, 2000, based on the former China Radio Symphony Orchestra, the founding of the China Philharmonic Orchestra marked a significant step toward the professionalization and internationalization of China’s symphonic music industry. As a national symphony orchestra directly under the National Radio and Television Administration, it is led by General Manager Li Nan, with Yu Long serving as Artistic Director and Chief Conductor.

It was also the first Chinese orchestra to perform at the world’s top summer music festivals, writing a glorious chapter in the history of contemporary Chinese music.
